Devotion:

What a wonderful reminder that if we are truly His by His grace alone, He works 'all things for our good.' Nevertheless. It is easy to forget that truth in the midst of trying circumstances, yet His continual presence remains. In this fallen world, none are promised perfect health, wealth and prosperity, for this world is passing away. Yet we look for a world to come. A world that is no longer under the curse of sin and death. A world that will be pain free, disease free, trouble free and where wars will cease both at home and abroad. A world where those made in His image truly dwell together in unity without the continual quarrels that still find there way even into the Church. Sin still raises it's ugly head to divide and conquer. Nevertheless, we are continually with our God for He alone never forsakes us and He will bring us safely to our Heavenly Father's House. Let us bow our hearts before Him today and seek His peace. Peace that this world will never give us and peace that our own fallen hearts often strive against. 'O how good and how pleasant it is for the brethren to dwell together in unity.' 'Peace I give to you,' our Lord said, 'Not as the world gives.' But how we often find our hearts filled with all manner of sin, strife and rebellion. Like spoiled children, we fight with each other and grieve the Holy Spirit of God. Let us make our calling and election sure today by recommitting ourselves to love the brethren even as He has loved us. 'Love covers a multitude of sins but he who repeats a matter separates friends.' Proverbs 17:9 For this is to be the witness to a lost and dying world. 'See how they love one another.' God, help us obey You by honoring one another above ourselves. Enable us to wholly live for You today, as we gladly die to ourselves that your Mighty Name might be lifted high as we humble ourselves in Your sight. Help us Lord, for we are weak and without strength. May You rejoice today as your children walk in Your truth. Come Lord Jesus and grant us your peace.
